Pine root wand from the Temple of Aphaia

        Picture
        Length: 35 cm/14 inches

Date of Collection: March 20th 2010, vernal equinox.

This wand was collected from the sacred site of the Temple of Aphaia on the island of Aegina in Greece. It came from an old pine tree in an area beside the temple. Pine wood is linked to immortality so this wand could be used to aid with past-life remembrance and to communicate with spirits. It may also be useful for travelling between the physical and the spiritual realms. Root wands have a quicker energy transference and easily channel energy, due to the nature of the root. This can be a very powerful tool to the witch that knows how to control this slightly exuberant wand. Resin runs through the length of the wand and there are pockets containing earth where the root has grown through this sacred ground. This wand actually contains the ancient earth that has lain at this sacred site for hundreds of years.
